Todays Scripture Reading Genesis 4-7
Focal Scripture: Genesis 6:9 “These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God.
Our reputation amongst others speaks loudly about us as individuals. In addition, how we walk with God speaks volumes about our theology. We can tell here from this passage that Noah was a man who lived differently than those who were around him in his day. He is characterized as righteous and blameless. Noah lived liked this even when those around him were evil. This tells me that Noah had a high view of God.
We know that others are always watching us and how we live the Christian faith. They want to see real and authentic believers. What the world doesn’t want to see are church people who gossip, pastors who belittle their flock, and professing believers who have zero mercy for those they encounter.
So how can we make sure that we do not become bad examples of the faith. We walk with God. To often believers try to live this life on their own. They walk by themselves. However, we see here in scripture that Noah walked with God. If we truly want to make a difference in our circle of influence we must walk with God.
How do you do that you may ask? Here are a few tips to get started.
- Have a daily Quiet Time with God (Read the Scriptures)
- Meditate on what was read (Think Deeply)
- Pray Earnestly (Communion with God)
- Love others (Have a Big Heart)
- Share your faith (Give people Jesus)
Walking with God must be a priority if our circle of influence is going to see Jesus and the world around us want to know what makes us different (blameless and righteous).
