Today’s Reading Joshua 9-11
Focal Scripture: Joshua 10:8 “The Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them, for I have handed them over to you. Not one of them will be able to stand against you.”
Joshua finds himself in a difficult situation. He is overwhelmed with enemies all around him. They are looking to not only beat him but destroy the nation.
Joshua in the midst of pressing odds hears the words he needed to hear. God’s fighting his battles in his life. Joshua is told to not be afraid. The victory is won and stand tall because of his faith.
The application for this scripture is straightforward. You will have enemies. You will be left alone. People will come to destroy you whether friend or foe. The example we have been given by Christ is to love others even when difficult times arise.
To have a biblical attitude over being attacked one must have complete faith in Christ. A trust that Christ will fulfill his word. A trust that even when you don’t defend yourself God has you and will fight for you.
Trusting God completely can be difficult but it is worth it. God must be the one to fight our battles if they are to be biblical.
Tomorrow I plan on reading Joshua 12-15
