Today’s Reading, Job 32-34
Focal Scripture: Job 34:10 “Therefore listen to me, you men of understanding. It is impossible for God to do wrong, and for the Almighty to act unjustly.”
Here we hear from the youngest person that was there to comfort Job. He didn’t speak because he wanted the older men to address Job from wisdom. He didn’t want his youth to be a deterrent to Job.
He believed that Job needed to be corrected because he was questioning God and how he works. Here he states that it is impossible for God to do wrong and that statement is accurate. It is also impossible for him to act unjustly. This means that his decisions are good and perfect.
There is much to learn from this young man. He clearly wants Job to be corrected when he has a wrong view of God. For this to take root we have to learn this ourselves. When suffering happens it is not Gods fault as he can do no wrong.
God’s actions are always perfect and just. This should drive us to trust and depend on God’s sovereignty. Even when things are falling apart our hearts are bent towards God love and perfection. Sometimes bad things happen because of sin in the world. Sometimes things happen that are beyond our understanding.
What we must remember and be confident in is that God does no wrong. Our hope rests in him even when we don’t understand or see the reasons.
Tomorrow I plan on reading Job 35-37
