Today’s Reading, 51-57
Focal Scripture: Psalms 56:10-11 “In God, whose word I praise, in the Lord, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mere humans do to me?”
When life gets difficult you must ask yourself a few questions. First, where is my trust in that situation? Second, what is getting my praise? These questions will reveal much about your heart.
We see here that the word of God is praised. The writer praises the word of the Lord because it is so important to them. They also know that his word can be trusted. If you’re struggling today look for hope from God’s word and not other sources.
Next we see that the writer has trust in God. This trust leads to not having fear. After all if you trust the Lord what do you have to fear? Paul even says this that death has no victory because of what the Lord does and will do.
Then if you are struggling with people understand their reach is limited. David writes this when he was captured but he knew no matter what humans are limited in what damage they can cause. His hope was greater than even physical threats.
I challenge you today to praise the Lord. Praise him because he is trustworthy. Praise him because he is good. Praise him because he has our back. Then praise him because he is worthy.
It will change your outlook on life.
Tomorrow I plan on reading Psalms 58-65
