Today’s Reading, Psalms 146-150
Focal Scripture: Psalms 150:6 “Let everything that breathes praise the Lord. Hallelujah!”
Praise is something we all like to receive. For some people, they struggle with giving praise. This struggle to give praise can impact not only earthly relationships but our heavenly one as well. You might be saying, how can that be true.
For starters if you don’t know how to see the good in others it can be difficult to see the good in situations. This usually leads to an attitude where God gets the blame but none of the praise. Hearts and words become mean and sharp. Sometimes that gets directed towards God.
So what are we to do if we are struggling with praise? We need to understand that God is the creator and sustainer of all things. That even includes us as people. Everything is in perfect balance because he wills it to be that way. That is worthy of praise.
If we have breath we should praise the Lord. That means he has given us he ability to speak, have sustained life, be able to live life with our families. That is a reason to praise the Lord. It is an attitude of gratitude.
So for believers we need to check our hearts and our attitude. To often believers are the most negative people. They complain and they look for the bad. Even though they have the greatest hope.
I challenge you today to have an attitude that praises the Lord. See him for the good God he is and remember that he is worthy of all praise and honor.
Tomorrow I plan on reading Proverbs 1-3
