The Wonderful Works of Our God

Today’s Reading, Psalms 40-45

Focal Scripture: Psalms 40:5 “Lord my God, you have done many things — your wondrous works and your plans for us; none can compare with you. If I were to report and speak of them, they are more than can be told.”

Have you watched God do miraculous work in your presence? If you have you understand that nothing is impossible for God. If you haven’t, you have enough evidence from others and the scriptures that God is a miracle working God. He works out the details and makes sure everything is exactly right. It is even more amazing when you have time to think about how God has worked in your life and the life of others. It becomes difficult to even express the wondrous works of the living God.

In today’s reading we see this truth explained. The author of the psalm is declaring that God always works. His plans are wondrous and he knows exactly what he is doing in our life and even in the lives of people around us personally and in the nations. Then the author declared just how much he has witnessed God work in his life and in the nation of Israel. It would be so much that he could never even tell about all of Gods great works.

So what does this mean for us as believers? It means that we worship a God who works. We worship a God that doesn’t sit still and is involved in the lives of his people. He cares and he knows what we need in our personal lives and in our worship.

So how does this change how we approach life on a daily basis? It should challenge us to have more faith in what we experience. It should also remind us to tell our stories in how God has worked in us and around us. We all like telling stories. How much more should we be willing to tell the stories of God’s marvelous work.

Tomorrow, I plan on reading Psalms 46-50
