Salvation of the Lord

Today’s Reading, Isaiah 45-48

Focal Scripture: Isaiah 46:13 “I am bringing my justice near; it is not far away, and my salvation will not delay. I will put salvation in Zion, my splendor in Israel.”

We all need to be saved at some point in our lives. When I was a teenager I had a very scary incident while at lunch. I was eating my food and everything was fine until it wasn’t: I started to choke on a roll and it got serious quick. When it first began nobody helped me or even asked if I was alright. I started to panic and even began to get light headed. Then out of nowhere one of my closest friends dads came up behind me and squeezed me until I was fine. He literally saved my life.

In today’s reading we see that God declares that he will bring his justice near and his salvation will not delay. He wants the nation to know that he is the one who saves. He is the one who brings comfort and joy. God above all is the one who brings people out of bad situations. He is the one they need to look to when things seem bleak.

Today we are not talking about spiritual salvation, we are talking about salvation from issues and problems we are facing in life. I want to be upfront and let you know that sometimes God will not deliver us the way we want him to when we are suffering. However, he will deliver us by helping us out or walking with us through what we need saved from in our current situation.

I understand what it is like to need salvation. Not just from a dinner roll but even myself. I know what it is like to need the Lord to do something that only he can do in your life. I understand how overwhelming life can be when it seems like you have no hope or help.

My encouragement for you today is to trust the Lord. Know that his salvation will come either before you are overwhelmed or after. Make no doubt though, he will be with you from beginning to the very end. I am not sure what you are facing today but God will be with you and he is your only hope of salvation. He is the only one with the means and the ability to never leave you or forsake you in your life.

Trust the Lord to walk before you, with you, and next to you as he brings you salvation. God redeems the whole person not part of a person when he does his work. He will do the same for you and for me as well.

Tomorrow, I plan on reading Isaiah 49-53
