A Glimpse of the Lord

Today’s Reading, Isaiah 5-8

Focal Scripture: Isaiah 6:5 “Then I said: Woe is me for I am ruined because I am a man of unclean lips and live among a people of unclean lips, and because my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of Armies.”

Getting a glimpse of something special will impact how you view life. It should challenge you, encourage you, humble you, and even push you to do greater things. Here Isaiah has been given words to tell the people but now he is in the presence of the Lord. This glimpse of the Lord reveals much about who he is as a person.

Notice that he says his undone or ruined. He realized his lips are unclean and lives among people who are unclean. Everything now has the proper perspective because he is in the presence of the Lord. Isaiah’s special glimpse was the Lord and it forever changed him.

The challenge for us as believers is to seek God with such passion that we get a glimpse of his presence. Right now we have the Holy Spirit who resides in us and he desires deep fellowship with the other parts of the trinity. However, we allow our sin to stifle the spirit and we miss out on what Isaiah got to experience.

I am not saying we will have an experience where we see the Lord sitting in his throne. What I am saying is that we can have a deep personal encounter with God that should change us and drive us towards experiencing God intimately in our lives.

So my question today is have you experienced being in the presence of the Lord? I don’t mean emotional feelings but a time where God meet with you and it for we changed your life. If not I encourage you to know God deeply where you can have this story.

Tomorrow I plan on reading Isaiah 9-12
