Ask, Seek, Knock

Today’s Reading, Luke 10-11

Focal Scripture: Luke 11: 10 “For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”

Asking someone for help is a big deal. Hopefully, we all have people in our lives that would be willing to help us no matter what. Those friends are the ones we call upon when answers are needed. When life is overwhelming. Or even when we are at our lowest moment. These friendships are a blanket of peace in a chaotic world.

In today’s verse we see that we can trust God with our prayers. Even more so than those friends that we know. We can be persistent and we can have faith that God will not only hear our prayers but answers them. Far too often we give up on prayer because we do not want to spend the time asking, seeking, and knocking. This process is valuable because it grows our faith. If we can trust our friends when we are in need how much more should we trust the Lord.

My challenge to you today is to be persistent in your prayer. Continually ask, seek and knock. Keep on until you get a clear answer. Your patience and your struggle will help you grow into a spiritual giant. Not a giant of your own making but a giant that trusts in the Lord.

I am not sure what you’re walking through today. Whatever it is keep going to the Lord in prayer. Ask him what noon your heart. Seek his face and his guidance, knock at the door until he opens it. Prayer is a beautiful thing especially when you’re willing to see the fruit of its labor.

Have an attitude of asking, seeking, and knocking and watch your spiritual life change.

Tomorrow I plan on reading Luke 12-13
