Darkness Gets Revealed

Today’s Reading, Job 11-13

Focal Scripture: Job 12:22 “He reveals mysteries from the darkness and brings the deepest darkness into the light.”

Job is again responding to one of his friends. His friend is trying to comfort Job but Job is in pain and disagrees with his friend. Here we see that Job is clear about Gods character. What does the Lord do? He reveals mysteries from the darkness.

He also brings what is thought to be hidden to the light. These words are a comfort to Job because he knows one day he will get an answer for his suffering. He also knows that these mysteries can’t be figured out on his own. He is taking comfort in Gods sovereignty.

I can tell you personally that these verses speak loudly at the moment. When you walk through difficult situations and you don’t understand why God allows hidden things to stay that way it can become frustrating. Especially when you try to do things the right way.

I am walking through a season now where darkness and untruths are happening everywhere. People who would act one way to my face then would turn around and try to destroy me behind my back. People who praise God in public but won’t make his word a priority.

It makes it even more difficult when you see them get away with untruths and unbiblical behavior. However, my hope doesn’t rest in them. My hope rest in the fact that God will vindicate me and bring the darkness to light. God will expose the wickedness.

My encouragement to you today is to keep your character even when others lose theirs. Don’t talk about others. Don’t scheme to ruin others. Don’t seek your own agenda. Be the opposite of people who walk in darkness.

God knows and God will bring truth to life.

Tomorrow I plan on reading Job 14-16
