God Is In The Business Of Changing Hearts

Today’s Reading 1 Samuel 9-12

Focal Scripture: 1 Samuel 10:9 “When Saul turned to leave Samuel, God changed his heart, and all the signs came about that day.”

God is in the heart changing business. In today’s passage we see Saul being chosen and becoming king. This is a solemn experience for several reasons. First, God’s giving the people what they want even though they already had a king in God. Second, Saul was chosen and it is recorded he was a special young man and nobody else was like him in Israel.

It it mentioned that the spirit of God came on Saul in a powerful way. It always amazes me that even though the children of Israel were disobedient, God continually gives them a way to serve him how he desires. Instead of a judge being used it will now be a king.

God changed the heart of Saul. That is what he does to people when he gets ahold of them. He also wants the same for you.

I am not sure where your life is today but I want you to know that God can and will change your heart. Saul was not expecting his heart to change when it did but when Samuel the prophet spoke everything changed.

How is your heart today? Has it been changed by God? Or do you have a heart that has never encountered the King. Wherever you are today I ask you to search yourself and examine if you have been changed.

It will make all the difference for eternity.

Tomorrow I plan on reading 1 Samuel 13-14
