Speaking to All

The Scripture

“How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?” (Rom 10:14)

Sharing the Word

First, to disciple someone means that conversations must take place. Words are spoken. Then words are heard. Next, those words reach the heart and change that person from the inside out. Above all, disciple making is about life change.

However, we are not just to disciple those who are near us. We are to disciple and evangelize the world around us. For instance, there are around six thousand people groups in the world today who have never heard about Jesus. That makes up almost two billion people across the globe. That means these people will live their lives. They will have kids with their spouse. Experience the ups and downs of life but NEVER hear about Jesus. This is why we need disciples who make disciples.

The Theological Solution

The solution to disciple making is not difficult. First, it requires believers to see people as sinners who will experience God’s wrath if they do not follow him. Second, believers must become desperate for others to know Christ. Todays verse says how will people know if they are not told. The answer is they wont. For instance, you probably came to faith because someone told you about Jesus. They spoke words of truth and life to you. Similarly, we have the task of sharing truth with everyone around us. Therefore, it must become our personal responsibility to speak about Jesus to all.

The Application

It is scary to share your faith with other people. Being a disciple maker requires commitment. It demands boldness for the cause of Christ. Right now the world needs disciple makers locally and around the globe. Therefore, are you advancing Christ or are you hindering Christ? In addition, maybe you are a disciple maker right now where you live. The world needs people like you to go places nobody has ever gone. Live bold for Jesus, go be a disciple maker.

Be a disciple maker to those around you and across the world!
