Take Delight In The Lord

Today’s Reading, Psalms 36-39

Focal Scripture: Psalms 37:3-4 “Trust in the Lord and do what is good; dwell in the land and live securely. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.”

Trust in the Lord matters. We can trust in many things and people in our lives but nothing can be trusted more than God. He is faithful and will always do good. Even when we are surrounded by enemies who seek our harm.

God wants us to live our lives and be secure in him. This can be difficult when frustrations, death, and trials come our way. Everything changes though when we delight in the Lord. When we do he will give us the desires of our hearts.

So what do you long for today? Maybe you need peace. Or you want your enemies death with. It could be that you have people talking about you and it is wearing on your soul. When we have frustrations we seek fairness and deliverance.

I encourage you today to seek God and find rest in him. The desires of our heart should be to see God move in us so we can be more like him. We must delight in the Lord more than we want vengeance.

I pray our hearts are saturated with God’s goodness. We are in line with his will and we know his desire for our lives is to live for him.

Tomorrow I plan on reading Psalms 40-45
