Today’s Reading, Ezekiel 43-45
Focal Scripture: Ezekiel 43:2 “and I saw the glory of the God of Israel coming from the east. His voice sounded like the roar of a huge torrent, and the earth shone with his glory.”
What do you long for in your life? I desire and want to see many things happen personally. However, what I long for more than anything is to see the glory of the Lord in person. I think about it often. I think about it when things go are going well and when things are going bad. I long for the glory of the Lord because I know when I personally see it, I will have eyes to my faith. I will finally get to see what my heart has longed for and what my spirit desires to be around.
In today’s reading Ezekiel gets to see the glory of the Lord. He gets to have personal communion with the guest who is investing in his life. He physically gets to hear the voice of the Lord. Everything around him gets to reflect the Lord’s glory. Ezekiel gets to bask in the greatness of God. Ezekiel gets his faith justified.
I am not sure about you, but having your faith justified will be an amazing experience. Right now we have faith that God will do what he promised. We know the Bible calls us blessed for believing without seeing. We also know that one day the Lord will reveal to the world exactly who he is and it will be an amazing sight to behold.
If we are honest waiting can be difficult. I know there are times right now that I could do with a dose of the Lord’s glory. I know the small glimpses I have experienced have encouraged me throughout my life. These small experiences make me desire the full account even more.
I know one day I will see Jesus as he really is, full of glory and splendor. Until that day I read his word and try to get to know him better. I pray that the Spirit will sustain me and turn me into a devoted follower. I have hope in his promise that I will see him face to face. I know that his glory will be my reward.
So how about you? Do you long for the Lord’s glory? If not what keeps you from wanting to see it in person?
Lord Jesus don’t tarry any longer and show us your glory!
Tomorrow, I plan on reading Ezekiel 46-48
