The Lord Has A Plan

Today’s Reading, Isaiah 18-22

Focal Scripture: Isaiah 19:3 “Egypt’s spirit will be disturbed within it, and I will frustrate its plans. Then they will inquire of worthless idols, ghosts, mediums, and spiritists.”

I like having plans, especially detailed plans. People who know me well, make fun of me because of this weird quirk that I have. I am one who likes to know what is going to happen and be prepared for any possible outcome. This is especially true when it comes to time and things being done in certain time frames. It absolutely drives me insane when time is wasted during meetings or during events. When a person has a plan that doesn’t happen.

In today’s reading we see that more judgement is being pronounced on the nation’s. In this section Egypt is getting judged by the Lord. However, this is part of God’s plan for Egypt. Since God will judge the nation their spirit will be disturbed and their plans will be frustrated. Once that happens they will look to idols and spirits for answers. When they don’t get a response from these items they will turn to the Lord. Gods plan was to use his judgement to turn people towards him and have them believe.

I am not sure where you are today but know this truth. God has a plan and his plans always work. I know at times it may be overwhelming and seem like God is absent but he isn’t. He knows what he is doing in the lives of people and in nations. Our job is to trust him and believe he knows what he is doing at all times. This requires us to trust him when things in life are going good and bad. It requires a belief that God knows more than us in every aspect of life and our faith.

So the challenge I have for you today is to trust the Lord’s plan for your life. If you are a believer know that your situation will be worked out for his glory and his good. If you are an unbeliever his plan is for you to be confronted with the truth and repent. His plan is for everyone to have the opportunity to believe. Because he is perfect that plan always happens. However, people chose death over life.

Be encouraged today that the Lord is in control. He is powerful and amazing in his thinking and his works. You can trust the process. You can trust his heart. His ways are perfect. His ways always succeed.

Tomorrow, I plan on reading Isaiah 23-27
