Who May Ascend The Mountain Of The Lord

Today’s Reading, Psalms 21-25

Focal Scripture: Psalms 24:1-6 “The earth and everything in it, the world and its inhabitants, belong to the Lord; for he laid its foundation on the seas and established it on the rivers. Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not appealed to what is false, and who has not sworn deceitfully. He will receive blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. Such is the generation of those who inquire of him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob.Selah”

When you realize that everything in on the Earth belongs to the Lord it changes your perspective. The question then comes from King David, who may ascend the holy mountain of the Lord? He then gives an amazing answer.

People who have clean hands and a pure heart may ascend the mountain of the Lord. Ones who have not appealed to what is false and not said things deceitfully. Also a person who seeks the face of God.

These details tells us a lot about who will ascend the mountain of God. It gives us something to strive for that is life changing. This process will bring us closer to God and reveal sin in our own lives.

The phrase that sticks out more than anything is seeking the face of God. Is that a pursuit that we all have? Seeking Gods face is good and laborious work. It will change you.

After all isn’t that the goal. To be more like Christ and ascend the holy mountain. Dare to be different today. Seek God.

Tomorrow I plan on reading Psalms 26-31
