Jesus Gives Peace and Direction

Today’s Reading, Matthew 27-28

Focal Scripture: Matthew 28:10 “Then Jesus told them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to leave for Galilee, and they will see me there.”

Have you ever been in a situation where you needed peace? I can tell you that I have and it can be very frustrating when that peace can’t be found in your life. Over the last 18 months God has been teaching me that peace often comes after a major trial. You see it is difficult to understand peace if everything is always going good. However, when you go through a storm you get to see the power behind peace in your life.

In today’s reading Jesus has already been crucified. He was buried and now he has risen. As the women were headed to the tomb they encounter the risen Lord. He tells them Hello and then instructs them that to not be afraid. In the middle of their worst moment they are given hope and peace from their savior. He also gives these women instructions to tell his brothers where he will meet them again.

I am not sure what you are going through in your life right now but know this eternal truth. Jesus gives peace. He is the only one that can give you a peace that transcends human understanding. If you are in the middle of a difficult season, look to Jesus who wants to bring you to a place of trust in him. After all that is what peace is all about, trust.

Many of us have a difficult time with trust and that can even filter into our relationship with the Lord. We must understand that our faith in Jesus can and will bring us through any difficult situation that we face.

So when you think your world is falling apart look for his peace to comfort you at the perfect time. My personal experience has shown that this truth can be trusted. I now have a peace that doesn’t depend on circumstances but a person instead. When I finally rested in my peace, I got directions to my next destination.

Be encouraged and know that the Lord cares for you and is working in your life. Also know that your circumstances are bringing you to a deeper faith than you can imagine.

Jesus is peace and we must trust him even when it doesn’t make any human sense.

Tomorrow, I plan on reading Mark 1-3
