Our God is Greater

Today’s Reading, 1 Kings 5-6 & 2 Chronicles 2-3

Focal Scripture: 2 Chronicles 2:5 “The temple that I am building will be great, for our God is greater than any of the gods.”

Our God is greater than any other Gods portrayed in the world. Our God is greater than any other religion in the world. I know in today’s culture that might seem offensive but it needs to be said in our society. There is only one true God and King, and his name is Jesus. Believers also need to be reminded of this truth because rooster they walk around defeated and not confident in our God.

In today’s reading we see that the remote that Solomon is building for the Lord will be great. Why? Because his God is greater than all other gods. In Solomons world that is a major claim. Almost every people group and nationality worshipped other gods if not multiple Gods at one time. Solomon was declaring by the temple being built that the Lord in heaven is greater and deserved a place worthy of his stature.

Given this truth I wonder how others perceive our confidence in the Lord. When we have conversations can people tell that our God is greater than other gods. When tragedy strikes are people able to understand that we do not worship a dead god but one who is alive and well.

The challenge I have for you today is to declare that God is greater than anyone or anything else. I know that seems simple but I want you to know that this deceleration comes at a cost. To do this accurately you have to renounce other religions. You have to say that biblical Christianity is the only way to get to heaven. You also have to say that Christ is the only way to be redeemed.

Our God is greater not because we self are him to be, but because he has declared himself to be and has backed it up over the centuries. It is time we say with confidence that our God is great and is worthy to be praised.

Tomorrow, I plan on reading 1 Kings 7 & 2 Chronicles 4
