The Lord Fights For His People

Today’s Reading 2 Chronicles 18-20

Focal Scripture: 2 Chronicles 20:29-30 “The terror of God was on all the kingdoms of the lands when they heard that the Lord had fought against the enemies of Israel. Then Jehoshaphat’s kingdom was quiet, for his God gave him rest on every side.”

When you’re in the midst of a battle it can seem overwhelming. Especially when the enemy seems to numerous to defeat. Here we see how God fights on behalf of Israel. When God gets involved things drastically change.

To often the enemies of the Israelites think they can destroy this small nation. The enemies will believe this because they believe they are superior. However, notice how Jehoshaphat got peace when he let the Lord fight his battle.

Here I am going to get personal with a situation I am going through. I am really struggling with what the Lord is up to in my life. I am in a battle. I have done everything right and biblically. However, there is a battle I am facing which has an enemy that is deceitful and manipulative. The battle seems to be lost and that sin will prevail. This sin can be confronted and dealt with but the focus gets shifted.

How I respond in this situation will determine what I truly believe. I can be in despair or I can trust the Lord to fight my battles. I choose to trust the Lord. I know that the truth will eventually come to light. I selfishly want to expose everything. However, that’s not how I have been taught to act by the Lord.

God will fight my battle. He will bring peace. I know that sin never stays hidden and it will be exposed. My hope is the Lord.

I am not sure what you’re experiencing right now but know if you’re submitting yourself to God you will find the path. All sin will be judged. From how you talk to people to watching bullies go unchecked.

Submit to the Lord and have him fight your battles. He will expose everything in due time and give you peace in the process.

Tomorrow I plan on reading 2 Chronicles 21-24
