Trust the Lord

Today’s Reading, Isaiah 23-27

Focal Scripture: 26:4 “Trust in the Lord forever, because in the Lord, the Lord himself, is an everlasting rock!”

I am a trusting person. Often I trust people well before I should. Sometimes this is good other times it hurts me in the long run. The reason it hurt me is because I assume that people have good intentions and are honest. However, I have learned over the years that people are not honest or have ulterior motives.

Thankfully, there is one person I can completely trust and that is the Lord. I know that he will never lie to me. He will never use or abandon me. He will always be solid and be there when I need him. He will be faithful to his word and always have good motives. That is someone worth trusting and telling others about.

I am sure some of you have had your trust violated by humans. You believed they would do what they said. You believed they would treat you fairly and honestly. Your hopes were dashed and your understanding rocked. When trust gets violated it can put you in a vulnerable place.

The application today is to find your main source of trust in the Lord. He never changes. He is steadfast and will always accomplish and follow through on his promises. Even though the world will hurt us God is always good. That is an amazing thought.

So if you’re struggling to trust, know you can trust the Lord.

Tomorrow I plan on reading Isaiah 28-30
