Will you go where God calls?

Todays Reading Genesis 12-14

Focal Scripture: Genesis 12:1 “The Lord said to Abram: Go from your land, your relatives, and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.”

Leaving everything that you know behind is scary. There is no way to describe the feeling of uncertainty and to follow a path that is completely by faith. In that moment you are excited for what is to come, sad to leave what you know, and bombarded by questions of whats next. However, when you completely surrender to what God wants for your life, you understand the freedom it brings in your walk with him.

Abram was asked to follow God and do something that nobody has ever done before. Being the first is amazing but it comes with challenges. Abram, however, was not concerned with the challenges. He was focused on listening to the voice of God and doing what he said.

From personal experience I know what it is like to follow this path. To leave everything you know behind and be obedient. I would like to tell you that I am always that faithful. Unfortunately, I allow fear to interfere with my faith sometimes. As I look back on my life I am happy that God called me away to new places. By doing this I have had the opportunity to meet people who have changed my life in such positive ways. I learned what real ministry looks like when the church works together. I have grown in faith and confidence that God’s plan is so much better than my own.

I am not sure where you are today but I encourage you to step out in faith and go where God is calling you. Remember these things when choosing to follow God’s plan for your life.

  1. Step out in faith even when it is scary
  2. God will guide your way
  3. You will grow in your faith more than you can imagine
  4. You will learn to trust in God’s Sovereignty

I pray that today will be the day you do what God has called you to do. You will obey God and leave the rest up to him.

Tomorrow I plan to Read Genesis 15-18
