Man’s Glory Vs God’s Glory

Today’s Reading 2 Chronicles 2-5

Focal Scripture: 2 Chronicles 5:13-14 “The trumpeters and singers joined together to praise and thank the Lord with one voice. They raised their voices, accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and musical instruments, in praise to the Lord: For he is good; his faithful love endures forever. The temple, the Lord’s temple, was filled with a cloud. And because of the cloud, the priests were not able to continue ministering, for the glory of the Lord filled God’s temple.”

Far too often men try to glorify themselves above God. All of the attention is focused on them and they are consumed with their own thoughts. It is obvious when men seek their own glory. Because God is never mentioned and his bride isn’t the focus.

Here we see what happens when God’s glory shows up. The daily tasks that need to be done don’t happen. The Lord’s glory takes over everything and the priests had to stop working. The Lord’s presence is thick and changes everything.

So the challenge today is whose glory are you am seeking. Are you looking for man’s glory or God’s? It is pretty simple to tell. If the focus is on you, you are looking for man’s glory. If you are in wonder you are looking for God’s.

Our focus should always to be in a place where God’s glory abounds. However, some people will seek their own interests over God’s presence. No matter what happens pray to be in the presence of God and watch what happens.

Even when circumstances around you seem difficult expect to meet the Lord in an awesome way. His glory changes everything.

Tomorrow I plan on reading 2 Chronicles 6-8
