Today’s Reading, Job 21-23
Focal Scripture: Job 23:3-4 “If only I knew how to find him, so that I could go to his throne. I would plead my case before him and fill my mouth with arguments.”
When you don’t know where to look it can be difficult. Job here explains that he is having a hard time finding God. A difficult time finding his throne. He wants to see him so he can plead his case and even argue with God.
This statement is interesting because God knows that Job is just. He is a man of integrity. He knows who God is and has committed his life to him. Yet, he is having a difficult time finding where God is in his personal life.
We can learn a major lesson from these verses. When we are distracted we can miss God in our lives. He is always consistent and never moves. Our sin and distractions keep us from going to God’s throne.
If you find yourself in a desperate situation I encourage you to go to God. We are told to boldly and humbly go to the throne of God. He wants to hear from us and even knows our petitions before we ask of them.
Transparency and boldness in prayer make a big difference. It helps us remember who we are and our desperate need for God. That can and will change our lives.
If God seems distant or hard to find it is not him who moved or changed. Let’s get our hearts right when things get difficult.
Tomorrow I plan on reading Job 24-28
