The Lord Our King

Today’s Reading, Isaiah 31-35

Focal Scripture: Isaiah 33:22 “For the Lord is our Judge, the Lord is our Lawgiver, the Lord is our King. He will save us.”

Descriptions are always good to have when it comes to describing people. It gives you a sense of their personality and how they treat people. It lets you see if the person you will be around is authentic and consistent. True descriptions come from a place of knowing another. A place of knowledge.

Here we see God being described. We see what he does and how it impacts the nation’s. The Lord is our judge. He will determine what happens to us and will judge us for our thoughts, actions, and intent. The Lord is the one who gives the laws that are to be followed. This means that he knows the laws better than anyone and what is expected from them. Then finally we see that he is our King. The one worthy of worship and the one we bow down to daily. The one who sends us and bids us to come. He is ruler of our life.

The application for this is massive in our life. We have a description of our Lord. We know that he infiltrates every aspect of our lives. He gives us the expectations. He will judge us for those expectations. Then he is worthy of worship. This truth should humble us and drive us to worship. The Lord is our King.

I am not sure what description you have of the Lord but this one should penetrate our hearts. It should consume our minds. It should change our lives. When we understand who God is biblically it will drive us to see him as he really is described.

Let us bow down to our judge, lawgiver, and King.

Tomorrow I plan on reading Isaiah 36-39
