God Empowers Those Who Are Called To His Work

Today’s Reading, Exodus 30-32

Focal Scripture: Exodus 31:3 “I have filled him with God’s Spirit, with wisdom, understanding, and ability in every craft”

When God calls you to fulfill a ministry role, he will empower you to get it completed. It doesn’t matter if this ministry role is serving children, preaching, leading music, cleaning up the bathroom, or serving meals to others. I need to make a clarification that this is not a ministry role that you want to do because you thinks it is cool. For instance, I think singing is an amazing way to serve the Lord in ministry. However, I am not a talented singer. God is not going to magically give me the ability to sing because I want to be able to do that for the Lord. God empowers us to do what we are capable of doing.

In today’s reading we see that Bezalel was given a special gift so he could design artistic works in gold, silver, bronze, cut gemstones and the ability to work with every craft. This man was given the ability to help build the temple and do it above and beyond anyone else who was alive. His gift was magnified so the Lords house could be ready for worship. Bezalel even though he was talented needed it to go to another level. The Lord takes excellence serious and he wants his people to be spirit filled for optimal performance.

So what does this mean for believers today? It means that your natural abilities can be magnified by the Lord. I can’t speak for everyone else but I can tell you how it works in my life. I am naturally good at public speaking, I enjoy it and can talk on a variety of topics. However, to preach spirit filled sermons I can’t rely on human talent. I must rely on the Holy Spirit to give me a divine power that takes the truth and makes it easy for others to understand.

I don’t always do well in that endeavor, but what I can tell you is that when I preach in my power, it’s very evident. So what about you? What has the Lord called you to do? I want to encourage you to trust the Lord in the ministry he has given you. Pray that the Lord will empower you for any and all purposes. Pray that the Lord gives you supernatural strength to deliver the message of hope that will fulfill the Lords promises.

If you are truly called to the work of ministry you are serving in, you will be filled to the brim with the Lords power. If you’re not, you need to find out why. Because the work of the Lord is serious and he always prepares his people to speak on his behalf and serve on his behalf. God empowers those who are called to his work.

Tomorrow, I plan on reading Exodus 33-35
