God Will Fulfill His Promises

Today’s Reading, Acts 27-28

Focal Scripture: Acts 27:25 “So take courage, men, because I believe God that it will be just the way it was told to me.”

Having faith in someone’s word makes all the difference when you have a conversation with them. I worked with a pastor, that I knew would always tell me the truth. I witnessed him in several contexts give honest answers in extremely difficult and tense situations. I also knew this man would never say a negative word about someone even if the situation warranted it to happen. This man was full of character. He also had a trustworthy word and it was a joy to serve alongside him for many years.

In today’s reading Paul is facing a difficult situation. As they are sailing to see Caesar he has a vision that calamity will strike them on their travels. He warns everyone and they do not listen to his advice to stay at port. As they travel the weather becomes dangerous and it begins to batter the ship. However, Paul explains that he had a vision and he knows he will make it alive because he has a divine appointment. Paul trusted the word of the Lord over his present circumstance.

Just as I knew that one pastor would always fulfill his word and his promises, we can be even more confident that God will fulfill his promises. If God says it will happen, it will take place. It will be perfect timing and under perfect conditions, so God can get the glory. We need to learn to trust the Lord more than we trust in other people.

So what are you facing today that you need to trust in the Lord that he will deliver on in your life? Are you facing finical ruin and don’t know how you will survive? God promises us that he will meet our needs. Are you struggling with the next chapter of your life? His word promises to show us the next step. Especially when we seek his face diligently.

I know personally, I am trusting in the Lord to show me my next ministry steps. I am learning many things in my current setting. However, I miss other aspects of full time ministry. I am praying for God to open doors and show me where to walk. I need to have an unshakable faith that the Lord will deliver. I am specifically that he will show me how to blend education and student ministry.

Trust his word and know he will meet you right where you are personally. His promises are good and perfect. His promises are guaranteed.

Tomorrow, I plan on reading Romans 1-4
