Respond To Wisdoms Teaching

Today’s Reading, Proverbs 1-3

Focal Scripture: Proverbs 1:23 “If you respond to my warning, , then I will pour out my spirit on you and teach you my words.”

There is a big difference between wisdom and knowledge. Knowledge is knowing the facts of the Bible. Wisdom is applying them in your life accurately. Knowledge is knowing what annoys your wife. Wisdom is not doing those things intentionally to irritate her daily. Knowledge is knowing how to lead an organization. Wisdom is allowing people to use their strengths and gifts. Knowledge is just information. Wisdom is how to apply that information.

In today’s reading we see wisdom calling out and it gives us a lot of information. Wisdom calls out and says if you respond to my warnings then I will pour out my spirit upon you and then teach you my words. This clearly demonstrates that we must always be listening to wisdom. But whose wisdom are we listening to in our life? If should be biblical wisdom and the book of Proverbs comes from the wisest man to walk the Earth besides Christ. I am not sure about you but I want to be a person who has the spirit of wisdom poured out on them I. Their life. I want to avoid pitfalls and dangers.

My challenge for you today is to seek out biblical wisdom and people who are wise. I have been around long enough that I can tell you that most people seek out people who are popular. They also seek out people who have a platform. In my experience the wisest people don’t seek glory. They are in the shadows giving out information to anyone who would ask of them.

When we respond to wisdoms teaching it demonstrates our hearts and our attitudes. If we think that we have all of the answers or we are the person in charge and can’t be questioned you are not wise. Wisdom is knowing your limitations. Wisdom is allowing others to lead and get the credit. Wisdom is allowing other people to fail and learn from their mistakes. Wisdom elevates Christ and minimizes the individual.

Seek out wisdom and not fame. Seek out wisdom and not just knowledge. See out Christ and watch how your life changes.

Tomorrow, I plan on reading Proverbs 4-6
