Seek The Lord

Today’s Reading, Isaiah 54-58

Focal Scripture: Isaiah 55:6 “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call to him while he is near.”

Hide in seek has always been a staple game amongst children and teenagers. The whole point of the game is to have one person who is seeking out everyone else. Depending on where you are playing you can have people hiding outside or in very interesting places inside. One time I had a friend hide in an AC duct and nobody ever knew. The game wasn’t over until everyone was found by the seeker. To be a good seeker you had to be thorough and think outside the box.

In today’s reading we are told to seek the Lord. He needs to be seeker while he is able to be found and called to while he is near. The point of today’s scripture is to acknowledge the fact that God can be found by those who are earnestly looking for him. Those who desire his presence and his truth will be able to have their souls satisfied.

So are you seeking the Lord in your life? I have had many conversations with people who want to know where God is at in their life, but they are waiting for him to do all the work. Scripture tells us that God doesn’t move. He is on his throne and he consistently uphold truth and honors those who diligently seek him with all of their hearts.

So I challenge you today, be a person who seeks the Lord passionately. Instead of seeking other interests first, seek God first. I believe that many believers struggle with this because the pursuit of God requires reflection and examination. When you seek him you will have to uncover yourself and get rid of sin. When you seek the Lord it will become obvious that he wants all of your heart.

Be encouraged that on the journey to know God better you will grow exponentially. The journey will reveal how serious your faith is and how deeply you want to know the Lord. Seek him and never stop. Seek him and watch everything change in your life. Seek him and see how much passion will come when you know him better.

Seek him like a child trying to win a game. Leave no hidden place unsearched. Seek him until you find him because one day you won’t be able to in the future.

Tomorrow, I plan on reading Isaiah 59-63
