Spiritual Battle for Souls

In him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on Earth or in Heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross. (Col 1:19-20)

Follow Me. Two simple words that have monumental meaning. When Jesus asked the disciples to follow him it changed everything. The disciples were full of character problems. These character problems included doubt, anger, selfishness, and fear. However, after seeing the risen Christ they would give up their lives to proclaim truth. The followed Christ even if it meant death.

We have been asked to Follow Christ also, even if it means our death. Not our version of Christianity but Biblical Christianity. We should give up all we have so others may know Christ. We should follow Christ into battle. Not a political, cultural, or social battle. But a battle for the souls of men, women, boys and girls. Our marching orders are clear. Evangelize the world. Evangelize our cities. Evangelize our homes. (Matt 28:19-20)

These orders apply to every believer. Right now in our culture we are witnessing people trying to legislate morality and truth. We are seeing politics more important than faith. Clear attacks on Biblical Christianity because truth is offensive.

We are not on Earth to be spectators. God has called us to be participants in his story. Make no doubt we are in a battle. The battle is for souls. Souls that have questions. Souls that need hope. Souls that are looking for answers. However, when we are distracted by circumstances around us, we miss the mission we are assigned. (Eph 6:10-18)

Our mission. Is to let people know that Christ died for sins. He is the only one who can change hearts. Jesus is the only one who can bring peace. However, are we telling people about Jesus?

Are you distracted by other “things” right now?

If the fate of Christianity was in your hands what would happen? How many people would know about Christ? Would you flame the flames of faith? Or would it die out?

I pray that we will engage in the battle that has already been won. People need Jesus but we must go and tell them!
