Where Is Your Strength Found?

Today’s Reading, Psalms 70-73

Focal Scripture: Psalms 73:26 “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart, my portion forever.”

We know that being human has its limitations. We give into sin and we struggle with doubt and frustrations. Going through life we act tough and even out on a front like we have it all together.

Going through these motions means we are relying on ourselves more than God. This is one of the great dangers we face as believers. We believe strength is found in ourselves. Convinced that we can do life in our own.

Thankfully the psalmist reveals this problem to us in his writing. He acknowledges the weakness of the flesh and the heart. However, he also reveals the way to succeed.

That way is trusting in God for strength and relying on him for everything. Our culture teaches us that we are the director of our fates. It teaches us that we can do anything we put our minds to in life.

The Bible teaches us to rely on the Lord and submit to him. To trust his process and be obedient to en when it doesn’t make sense. I challenge you today to trust God and follow him. Leave your plans to the side and watch what happens when you find your strength in the Lord.

Tomorrow I plan on reading Psalms 74-77
