The Future Glorious Kingdom

Today’s Reading, Daniel 7-9

Focal Scripture: Daniel 7:14 “He was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, so that those of every people, nation, and language should serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will not be destroyed.”

Looking forward to things in the future is very exciting. You have a sense of anticipation. You know something amazing is on the horizon and waiting for it to happen is almost too much to bear. All you can focus on is this one event. You are consumed by your desire.

In today’s reading I can just imagine the anticipation and excitement that Daniel must have experienced during his vision. Here we see that Daniel gets to see the Lord take up his rightful place. He will rule and everyone will serve him. The Kingdom of the Lord will never pass away and will never be destroyed. Daniel got to see the future glorious kingdom that will last for all eternity.

Does this give you hope or dread? Personally, I can’t tell you how excited and how much I am looking forward to being in the presence of the Lord. When Daniel got this vision he also was overwhelmed. God was revealing much to Daniel and how destruction, enemies, and death would come for a season. However, in the end God prevails.

That is my challenge to you today. Know that God wins and that he prevails. As Daniel was getting overwhelmed by the things that were to come he also got to see the final story. God will take care of his people and will rule just like he promised.

I am not sure what you are going through today but know this, God will be on his throne and reign forever. He takes care of evil. In his divine sovereignty his plan works.

We have hope in a future glorious kingdom. Amen and Amen.

Tomorrow I plan on reading Daniel 10-12
