The Lord of Eternity Reigns

Today’s Reading, Psalms 90-95

Focal Scripture: Psalms 93:1-2 “The Lord reigns! He is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed, enveloped in strength. The world is firmly established; it cannot be shaken. Your throne has been established from the beginning; you are from eternity.”

Who we view as being on the throne will have a great impact on our life. If we see our jobs or calling as having priority that will define us. If we have our family on the throne they will determine our decisions. If we understand and apply that God reigns that will direct our steps.

The Psalmist goes on to say that the Lord is robbed in majesty and strength. This is another explanation of the character and attributes of God. We see that God is majestic, worthy of worship. He is full of strength and his actions show that truth.

In his strength he established the world and it will not be shaken by anything. God’s throne has always existed and that demonstrates more of his character. The God of the universe is in charge and everlasting. He is worthy of worship.

The challenge for believers is to worship the God of the Bible, not the God we want. True worship happens in spirit and truth. True worship acknowledges God and his attributes. True worship is life changing and transformative.

True worship happens when we humbly approach the majesty and strength of God and submit to our King who sits on his throne. Submitting to God is biblical and will change how we live our lives. It will change how we worship.

Tomorrow I plan on reading Psalms 96-102
