The Lord’s Timing Is Always Perfect

Today’s Reading, 2 Samuel 4-7

Focal Scripture: 2 Samuel 5:4 “David was thirty years old when he began his reign; he reigned forty years.”

Waiting on things to happen is very difficult. I remember the day I was going to get married it felt like that day would never happen. The week was full of adventure and funny stories. Even concern that I would be on jury duty during our surprise wedding. Through it all I was anticipating and looking forward to what God brought my direction. His timing was perfect.

In our reading today we see the same truth happen with David. He was promised the kingdom. However, it didn’t happen right away. He had to wait. He had to learn how to lead. He had to suffer. If you truly believe in God’s perfect timing you know that David had to be prepared to take the throne. God wanted David on the throne when it was the perfect time not David’s time. The man and the nation had to be prepared for what was to come. God is never off on his timing. Not even by a second.

This truth should encourage us in our daily life. We must know that while we wait we are not waiting for no reason. We are waiting for God’s perfect timing. We are waiting for our life to be prepared. We are waiting for others to be prepared. In Gods grand plan he sets everything into motion for his glory and his good.

I am not sure where you are today. Maybe you have a prayer that you need answered and see no answer coming. Maybe you are struggling mentally or finically and see no reprieve. All I can tell you is trust God and know that his timing of events is perfect. He will reveal what to do and where to go right when it needs to happen.

While we wait we must trust. We must believe our hearts are being prepared for the next steps. We are part of the master plan. Which means we must trust the master to put us right where he needs us when he needs us there.

Trust God above all else, not man made timelines or agendas.

Tomorrow, I plan on reading 2 Samuel 8-12
